WIWW: Pinterest Inspired

All of these outfits are Pinterest copycats inspired.  My favorite outfit I failed to get a picture with my curly hair.  I hate it when I do that.  I thought, "Maybe my husband will take a picture with the good camera," but it just never happened.  Next time!

3-2-1...Workout!

This is the new craze.  Actually it's not really that new anymore because it has been around for awhile but it may be new to some of you.  Every week you should do this:

3 days of cardio

2 days of strength training

1 day of yoga

I've been following this for awhile now and have seen some changes in my body so I highly recommend this set up.  I don't always get in my yoga but love it when I do.

Ready, Set, and Go!

Friday Plus-Nov. 18th

Here is our week in review:

We have done a lot of this.  Trains, cars, then back to trains.  Well, they finally united!

Kids can never leave one behind.  Love it!

I tried out the sock bun.  I'm totally in love.  But too bad I chopped my hair off a few hours later so I have to let it grow for awhile to do it again.  I used this tutorial here.

I've also been able to pamper myself this week so that is always a plus.
Have a great weekend!

Painted on lips

In my quest to become a more Fascinating Woman (for a different post), I've tried to wear lipstick more and more.  My husband would prefer me to wear a black dress with red lipstick more often than not but this is when I was wearing chapstick so you can imagine how often that happened. Times have changed.  I'm a new woman and wear lipstick...sometimes. I've tried to find the right shade and kind but I just haven't.  So, I decided I needed to buy some at Sephora instead of just the grocery store.  You know, maybe I'll get better quality.  And at the park one day we were talking about lip primer and how it makes your lipstick stay on better.  I have friends that swear by it.  I went on a quest that week.

One problem:  I drink tons of water and have a water bottle that said lipstick rubs off on and comes off.  So, I found myself reapplying and reapplying.

The kind lady at Sephora helped me out.  She actually doesn't use lip primer anymore because she doesn't like the look/feel of it.  She uses lipstick with a gloss over it.  She says her lips feel great all day long.  Of course, reapplying is a must sometimes but I actually really like this look too.  This is what I bought.

And can I just say how much the hubby loves my lips.  He doesn't even care that it comes off on him when I kiss him. :)  Okay, much of it is gone to the stem of my water bottle by then (and wiped off with wipe) by the time he gets home but I feel like a new woman with my new look.

I'm a lipstick gal!

Ahchoo!

Our house has been biten by the cold bug.  So, it's been chicken noodle soup for everyone.  But believe it or not I always still work out, no matter how sick I am.  Okay, if I was on my death bed I probably wouldn't but exercise makes me feel better.  I swear when I'm sick, that hour that I am working out is the best hour of the day, where I feel the best.  Sure I take it easy that week but it always feels good to get a workout in....runny nose or not!

What about you?  Do you workout while fighting a cold or do you use it as your "day off?"

BTW...I'm getting sick of doing burpees.  Anyone else?  I did 24 today.

Monday Must Haves...must reads!

I won't lie, folks!  A major thing that I am addicted to is reading blogs.  It is my "quiet time" where I get to unwind every day and escape.  I love it!  Today's must haves are a list of my favorite blogs (besides reading updates on all my friends).  BTW...if you don't have Google Reader, sign up before finishing this post.  Seriously, it saves me so much time when reading blogs.

C Jane Run-I got addicted when Nie Nie (her sister) was in the crash.  I love her writing style but especially love her vlogs.  I find her rather funny and witty.

Discount Queens-I peruse several couponing sites and this one is full of good deals.

Pinching Your Pennies-I'm a couponer.  This site helps me figure out my weekly grocery list and it even tells me exactly where to find the corresponding coupons.

Everyday Food Storage-Fabulous recipes and ideas for your food storage.

Food Storage Made Easy- This site helped me get my food storage started.  I love their Baby Steps list.  Have I done everything? No, but they always make me think of things I need to do/need in case of emergency.

With Two Cats-Great design blog.  She has helped me with two idea boards for decorating my house.  You tell her what you want, your style, etc. and she does all the leg work creating an idea board for your room.  Plus, she gives you all the sources.

Art for Little Hands-This blog is great for ideas for art projects with your kids.  She also links up with other blogs so you get tons of ideas of things to do with your kids.

Momma Go Round-Fashion blog.  She never ceases to amaze me with her fashion sense.  Love it!  I link up on Wednesdays on her blog to see other inspiring outfits.

The Pleated Poppy-Love her fashion ideas, etsy shop, homeschooling tips, etc.  I don't homeschool but it's fun to read about her daily doings.

Kendi Everyday-The girl that inspired this blog!  She is the Master of the Remixes.

Picky Palate-Love how creative Jenny is (plus she is my friend)!  Her recipes are to die for.

Our Best Bites-Everything I've made from this site is delicious.

Do I read all these blogs everyday?  Heck, no!  But these are a few that I really like.  I have a "few" more that I like too but I'll save those for another time. :)

Friday Plus-Nov. 11th

Happy Veteran's Day!  Here is our week in pictures.  Not too many but at least it is something.

I'm getting my hair done next week and wanted to check out the latest looks.  I bought this magazine at Fry's for inspiration.  Nothing stood out to me so I'll probably get the usual and be on my way.  But I'm kind of wanting a bit of a change.  We will see.

Last Saturday, Old Navy was having their winter coat sale.  I took my son to buy new gear for the next two years (I buy big so it lasts).  We will hopefully have a white Christmas this year so we were talking about building snowmen.  He was so cute in the store trying on his coat and wanted to build a snowman right then and there.  Sorry kid.  Not in AZ!  But he settled on making snowmen out of playdough that day.  Can't wait for the real deal though.

I don't have a picture but I'm kind of in a somber mood tonight.  My friend's house burned down last night.  Luckily, they were out of town so everyone is safe but it is so sad to see them lose everything.  Please keep the Webb Family in your prayers.

Layering Necklaces Video

My good friend, Calli, over at Fuzzys Treasures was the inspiration to me layering necklaces.  I have done it a few times since watching her video and I think I'm addicted.  They have tons of neat stuff over there so go check it out.  Click here to view the video that inspired my new addiction.....layering necklaces.

WIWW: Finally Fall or maybe Winter....can't decide.

It seems like we never got to enjoy "Arizona" fall because it was too hot but now it is cold. Mother Nature is playing tricks on us.  Hey, I'm not complaining because I can finally wear boots, cardigans, coats, and sweaters.  Hooray!  These outfits are nothing to scream about except the striped dress.  I LOVE it and it was only $6 so that is even better.  I'll plead the fifth on my photographer's skill level.  For some reason he thinks sitting down will get the same result.  Wrong!  So sorry for the awkward picture of me.

cardigan: Nordstrom's
shirt: F21
pants: Old Navy

Cardigan/dress: Old Navy
boots: Dillard's (long time ago....need new pair because up close these are falling apart)

No Sugar!

My SIL asked me if I would go on a NO SUGAR diet with her until Thanksgiving.  Easy, right?  Since Thanksgiving is practically just around the corner.  She said I could still have Diet Coke so this should be a breeze.  Except for the fact that my son still has Halloween candy sitting nicely in his pumpkin that tempts me so....especially during naptime.  Who's with us?

Monday's Must Have-Chicken Parmesan Bake

Pinned Image

I found this recipe via Pinterest last week and I made it tonight.  It was a huge hit!  Even my picky eater ate it.  Okay, he couldn't have the special drink until he had two bites but even after he had the special drink (aka Root Beer) in hand he still finished it.  Success!  Click here for the recipe.

Friday Plus-Nov. 4th

Here is some of this week and last week happenings.

Here she is...FINALLY in the ground.  I'll be honest, my husband and I disagree on this but for now (hopefully not for long) is how it will be.  Please keep your fingers crossed he will want it even with the ground like me. :)  Don't judge, our winter lawn is being put in as I type so it won't look this ugly.

Every Thursday we go to Kids' Club at the mall for singing time, playing, Chickfila, and free carousel ride.  I'll be honest I usually just go for the Chickfila and that it is a practically free outing.  Duper rode in the elevator with us so we had to grab a picture.

My son loves the bouncy house.  Good thing has gotten to enjoy them three times in the past two weeks.  It has been at several parties we have gone to and we also went with some friends and spent a few hours jumping away.  He was in little boy heaven.

My week isn't complete without a trip to Chickfila.  I told you I was addicted. This was last week. :)

My son sure loves this machine.  Not sure why but I don't plan on putting money in it.  It is like those little rides at Walmart.  He has NO clue they move and I would like to keep it that way.

My son got invited to a Happy "Owloween" party.  It was fully equiped with a lesson on owls, bingo game, treats, and games.  And don't forget two/three year olds.  The mom is super woman and we got to leave them there for an hour.  I kinda didn't know what to do with myself but don't worry I figured it out. :) When I picked him up he couldn't stop talking about owls.

I'm taking a class for credit for my recertification hours as a teacher.  It is called Positive Discipline.  I am really enjoying it.  I'll be honest, I'm a Love and Logic fan all the way but there are some great concepts that I want to implement with this program.  Who says you can't mix and match?

Pinterest Recreations

So I would say my Pinterest creation was a total disaster this week.  I'm sorry but doing my hair other than my normal straight takes WAY too much time and energy and ends up looking worse than ever.  I swear they had a professional do this and I'm warning you I am obviously not a professional.
I swear it looked better in real life but pictures don't lie I guess.  Maybe next time.  Gotta tie up the loose ends.

Don't Stop!

Pinned Image

I LOVE this quote!  It totally reminds me when I was training for my half marathon almost a year ago.  There were so many times in my training that I wanted to walk the rest of my run or just bag the half and do the 10k but I perservered.  Because I wasn't done!  I read a quote in a (running) magazine about how your legs might be tired but your mind isn't so keep going.  So true!  Your mind is never tired so just keep going and do what you gotta do. (Like the burpee challenge.  I so want to quit some days.)

So even if something gets challenging, finish it!  You will never regret it.
