WIWW: Spring is for Skirts!

Spring is for skirts around here.  It is starting to warm up and I'm kind of thankful because I'm sick of wearing the same two pants every single day.  I have loads of skirts (with elastic waists) that I can wear so you might be able to see more outfit posts.  But, alas, I still wear the same 5 shirts.  Remix anyone?  I loved these outfits.  The colors were so vibrant even though you can't see them very good in the pics.  Sorry. :(

Monday Must Haves....PIns

Pinterest came to the rescue this past week.  Post to come soon but here are some of my favorite pins lately.  I actually am going to follow through with them soon because I went to JoAnn's and my other favorite fabric store over the weekend.  Lots of projects going on over in our house.  Better get started.  Here is what I plan on making:

An Easter tie for my little guy following this tutorial.

Someone sells this on Etsy but I think it would be easy to make.  But knowing my skills it will probably be useless  and my babies will wake up. Ha!

Two of these, please!  I'll be using this tutorial.

There ya have it.  Must make Monday.

Friday Plus-March 23rd

Here is our week in pictures.

I made these "raw" cookie dough balls from a recipe off of Pinterest.  Shocker I know!  They are really good.  Ingredients: almonds, pecans, oats, honey (I didn't have raw honey), cinnamon, vanilla, salt, and chocolate chips.  YUMMY!

This past week it hailed in AZ!  My son said, "Yeah, now Santa is going to come."

This is how you clean up when you can't bend down.  Sweep it up!

First lesson of the season.  I bought a Groupon for it because I'm not sure if lessons will happen in the summer with twins on the way.

Have a good weekend!

Obsessed with Cobalt Blue!

If you saw my post last Wednesday I told you how obsessed I was with cobalt blue.  Guess what?  It's worse!  I recently bought a cobalt blue skirt and I've been pinning things like crazy what to wear with it.  Here are some of my favorite pins on Pinterest.

Power of Massage

There is a sign at my gym of someone getting a massage and a quote with something to the effect of not forgetting this part of your workout.  Oh, I won't is what I think every. single. time. I walk by.  Well, Jason got me a membership to Massage Envy awhile ago and I love it.  Especially during this pregnancy.

My back is shot these days and so it totally helps having these massages once a month...even prenatal ones.  I found the best massage therapist that gets how tight my back is and surprisingly enough I get relief.  Last time he said that I was going to hate him because he decided to kill my IT band.  Seriously, I wanted to hit him and scream but I just winced in pain.  But that whole next week I could feel the difference.  Hardly any pain in the back!  It is amazing how connected the muscles in our bodies are!

Anyway, my fitness thought for the day is to not forget the massage as part of your workout.  It really helps your muscles elongate and it is a nice relaxant for you.  And I have to add, you know those charlie horse pains you get in your legs while you are pregnant at night?  Well, I haven't gotten any yet and I really am attributing my monthy massages to that.  So worth every penny right there because those leg cramps are KILLER!

Monday's Must Read

I finished yet another audio book and LOVED it!  I loved that the author was the narrator on the audio version.  It made it that much more real to me.  This book is the story of her being a Chinese mother in a Western culture.  This next picture is so fitting.  I highly recommend this book to everyone!

Favorite Freezer Meals

I'm on the hunt for the perfect freezer meals that are tasty and easy to make.  My family still will need to eat in a few months so I want to be prepared.  If you have some favorite websites or recipes you want to send my way I would love it.
Pretty Please!

WIWW: Cobalt Blue Obsession

I pinned this outfit on Pinterest and had a slight obsession with wearing cobalt blue this week.  I am still dying to get some colored jeans (red or blue would work now) but I think I need to wait until it is more my season...aka not pregnant.  Hopefully they are still in style by then.

It's the perfect leap-year outfit!

Pinned Image

These look SO yummy and maybe I won't feel as guilty eating them because they are a vegan/raw recipe from A Dash of Compassion.  I am a sweet kick right now so maybe this will satisfy my craving.

Must Have Monday brought to you buy Pinterest and Apple.

I know I just did my favorite app addiction last week but I "pinned" another app that I am dying to try on Pinterest.  I downloaded it yesterday and it is already a hit with my 3 year old.  It is called Letter School.

Pinned Image

Kids can practice tracing letters and numbers.  This will help my son with his fine motor skills which I am very pleased about.  Love it!

Another one that my son really likes lately is Bugs and buttons.  He doesn't even know he is learning.  That is the great thing about it.

WIWW: Color Blockin' Maxi

dress: Old Navy
cardigan: Nordstrom's

So, it is getting more difficult every day to be fashionable with new combinations so sorry if my fashion posts are few and far between.  It is only because I wear the same things week after week.  **Sigh. I bought this new maxi dress at Old Navy and LOVE it!  It is so comfy and cute that you just might see me in it weekly.

Best Parenting Tip

Recently I learned the best parenting tip.  Granted, my son still needs to practice it at times but it has worked on more than one occasion.  I have been taking a few parenting classes that count for my recertification hours for teaching.  They all basically say the same things but just give different tools you can use.

This one class, the instructor gave us a secret on how to be interrupted politely.  I was all ears and thought I would share.

If you are talking on the phone or with another person and your child wants to talk to you, they can tap you on your knee to see if you can talk.  If you are busy you hold up a finger (saying 1 minute).  That lets the child know you heard them and know they need to tell you something.  They need to wait until you have a break in the conversation to talk to them.

I've had to practice multiple times with my 3 year old son.  Usually he is in his car seat or not able to tap me so he says, "Mommy." I just hold up a finger and when I get a chance I see what he needs.  There are times that it hasn't worked as well but when it does it is golden.

Give it a try!  It really is the best tip I've gotten in awhile.

Monday Must Have....Latest Addiction

I'm sure I've mentioned this before but I can't stress it enough.  One of my favorite apps right now is Instagram.  I love, love, love it!  No, seriously, I do.  It is my latest obsession.  It is so fun to see your friends pictures too.  So, if you are not on it, get with the program and get it. Ha!  I only say that because I want to follow you. :)

Friday Plus-March 2nd

Here is what we have been up to this week:

We have had a lot of picnic at the parks this winter and we can't complain.  We love every second of it.  Here is one of our picnics while feeding the ducks.  You can't beat this weather!

I took the glucola test at the doctor this week.  I hope I pass because I would hate to give up my carbs.  This pregnancy I crave them.

I am a nerd!  I have tinted, changing lenses on my glasses.  I don't wear my glasses very much so one Sunday I came back in from taking the trash and wanted to see if they really were tinted.  Lo, and behold, they do.  I've had my glasses a long time but usually only wear them at night so I never get the chance to test them out.

My son's earnings for his chores.  We are high rollers around here.  He thinks the more the better so why ruin his thinking.  It reminds me of the Shel Silverstein poem about trading in the dollar and ending up with pennies.
