Lipstick Review

Remember when I posted about my plans to get new lipstick?  Well, I picked it up and I have a review for you.  While I picked up this

I decided to pick up one of these too

I'll have to say that I like the 24 hour ones better.  Maybe it was the shade I chose on the 24 hour one I liked better or just the feel.

With my old (kinda expensive) lipstick, I loved the look and feel of a gloss over the color.  With the 24 hour lipstick, you get it.  You put on the color, wait a few seconds for it to dry, then the other end is like a chapstick/glossy stick.  And I must say it really stays on 24 hours.  I put it on in the morning and maybe reapplied it once to freshen up.  When I woke up the next morning I was looking at my lips and noticed they were still tinted brown.  Yep, it was from the lipstick!  Perfect. Now that is advertising.

I liked the 14 hr lipstick too but I felt that my lips were somewhat dry and I found myself putting on a gloss over it to get that feel.  Plus, I need to pick a different shade as well.

For the love of lipstick

Remember how I became a lipstick gal?  Well, in my new magazine I saw an advertisement for this lipstick called 14 hour lipstick.  Well, it's worth a shot, right?  Next time I"m at Target I'll be picking this up and let you  know of my review.

Mags for Miles

I recently got this magazine in the mail due to my mags for miles program.  What's that?  Well, since I used to travel a lot and now not so much, I use some of my frequent flier miles to buy magazines so I can keep the miles.  Some of the choices have been not so good and the magazine just ends up in the trash.  Others are gold mines.  I'll be honest, this magazine did not disappoint.  I loved what I saw and read and might just share a few things with you that I learned.

For Christmas, I bought myself Santa brought me some more makeup.  It was many different colors of eyeshadows.  I used to wear different colors to match what I was wearing but then went to just boring old brown.  Well, one day while shopping at Sephora I was talking to the makeup artist.  She told me to be more daring with my makeup and branch out and wear colors again.  So, I am!

What are your thoughts about switching up your eyeshadow colors?

Have you been threaded?

Last week I got threaded

It was quite the experience.  My sister got it done with her SILs and told my mom and I about it.  The very next day we went to the same place to be "serviced" as well.  Wowza!  Is all I have to say.

I have never been threaded before or any of the sorts (i.e. waxing) on my face before so needless to say I was a hairy beast.  Maybe I've shaved here or there my peach fuzz but no wax.  No wonder it hurt me more than my sister or mom.  But it was worth it.

Beauty is pain right?

I actually would recommend this technique because there are no chemicals and no chance of burning.  Plus, my face is silky smooth.  With my clarisonic and my threading experience, my face will never feel the same again.

And that my friends is a good thing.  My husband is going to love it.  Shhh!  He doesn't know yet so let's see if he figures it out.

Shampoo or Powder

Well, we all know that somedays you need to wash your hair but just don't have the time.  True confession:  I don't wash my hair every day.  I know that most people don't.  But I probably wash mine twice a week, maybe three if your lucky.  So, what do I do in between....besides wearing hats and ponytails.

Dry Shampoo and Baby Powder.

I actually used to use dry shampoo but now like baby powder better.  Purely because of the smell.  Which one do you like better?  I would love to know.  A girl could always get more beauty tips.

Painted on lips

In my quest to become a more Fascinating Woman (for a different post), I've tried to wear lipstick more and more.  My husband would prefer me to wear a black dress with red lipstick more often than not but this is when I was wearing chapstick so you can imagine how often that happened. Times have changed.  I'm a new woman and wear lipstick...sometimes. I've tried to find the right shade and kind but I just haven't.  So, I decided I needed to buy some at Sephora instead of just the grocery store.  You know, maybe I'll get better quality.  And at the park one day we were talking about lip primer and how it makes your lipstick stay on better.  I have friends that swear by it.  I went on a quest that week.

One problem:  I drink tons of water and have a water bottle that said lipstick rubs off on and comes off.  So, I found myself reapplying and reapplying.

The kind lady at Sephora helped me out.  She actually doesn't use lip primer anymore because she doesn't like the look/feel of it.  She uses lipstick with a gloss over it.  She says her lips feel great all day long.  Of course, reapplying is a must sometimes but I actually really like this look too.  This is what I bought.

And can I just say how much the hubby loves my lips.  He doesn't even care that it comes off on him when I kiss him. :)  Okay, much of it is gone to the stem of my water bottle by then (and wiped off with wipe) by the time he gets home but I feel like a new woman with my new look.

I'm a lipstick gal!
