Monday Must Have..Movie Review
Over the weekend I had my last date for awhile. And, of course, I had to see this movie. Can I just say it didn't get great reviews but that didn't stop me. I loved it! Maybe because I've experienced practically everything in the movie but even the men in the theater were laughing. It is just life. I found it hilarious! It really covers everything from the "What to Expect" book: sickness, miscarriage, infertility, labor, twins, etc. I highly recommend this movie.
Speaking of expecting, if all goes well and there is a bed for me, tomorrow morning I am being induced with my twins. Wish us luck! So, if you don't see me here for awhile you will know I'm keeping busy. But I am making my family blog public for awhile so you can read about the birth and see pictures if you care to. The address is:

Peace!

Friday Plus- May 18th
Here is our week in pictures. These may be out of order because I'm blogging from my phone. :)
My son was practicing putting a baby to bed with his new self proclaimed job of being in charge of sound machine.
I love that my son cleans up before bedtime.
Happy Mother's Day to me. My son gave these to me in Saturday and then proceeded to tell me that I'll be getting a gift card with apples on it too.

Lipstick Review
Remember when I posted about my plans to get new lipstick? Well, I picked it up and I have a review for you. While I picked up this
I decided to pick up one of these too
I'll have to say that I like the 24 hour ones better. Maybe it was the shade I chose on the 24 hour one I liked better or just the feel.
With my old (kinda expensive) lipstick, I loved the look and feel of a gloss over the color. With the 24 hour lipstick, you get it. You put on the color, wait a few seconds for it to dry, then the other end is like a chapstick/glossy stick. And I must say it really stays on 24 hours. I put it on in the morning and maybe reapplied it once to freshen up. When I woke up the next morning I was looking at my lips and noticed they were still tinted brown. Yep, it was from the lipstick! Perfect. Now that is advertising.
I liked the 14 hr lipstick too but I felt that my lips were somewhat dry and I found myself putting on a gloss over it to get that feel. Plus, I need to pick a different shade as well.

Maxi Dress Gone Wrong, Turned Right!
Last week I read one of my favorite craft blogs Make It and Love It. She put a tutorial on how to turn a Maxi dress into a Maxi skirt. Let's just say I've had this blue Maxi dress for a long time and have worn it maybe three times. Bad purchase, I know! It should have gone to Goodwill ages ago but I knew there was a reason laziness it stayed in my closet.
Here is the link to her tutorial. It is SO easy! Honestly, I did it in a few minutes. And if I can do it....anyone can.
I tried to find a picture of me wearing the "ill fitting maxi dress" but I couldn't even find one picture. That is how often I wore it. But I'm sure you will see more than enough pictures of me wearing this skirt that you will say, "Look, there it is again." Plus, who can't go wrong with this blue? hehe

Monday Must Haves...May 14th
I'm so looking forward to going shopping when I don't have a huge belly. Actually, shopping is always so awful the first several months after having a baby because you don't fit into anything in the size you want. But I decided I can shop at both times because I get so sick of my maternity/pregnancy clothes. These are some things I'm coveting for when I get my body back....okay somewhat back. Maybe it should be a reward for getting back into shape. :)
And I must confess.....I love stripes these days.
I actually bought this skirt already from Piperlime.com. I cannot wait to get it.
I have probably put this skirt on my blog before but she recently opened up her shop and I LOVE it. It comes in several colors and one will be mine someday.

The Shred/Insanity/P90x
As soon as I'm feeling up to it and get clearance from my doctor, I'm excited to start working out again. I figure going to the gym might take me awhile because I like to go way early in the morning, so I need to find an alternative until these babies figure out sleeping through the night. :) We have all of these videos so with these and running outside I should get a pretty good start. We will see.
I might be too sleep deprived to even think about it!

Monday Must Haves...May 7th
Hope you all had a fabulous Cinco de Mayo! I spent the day tracking my brother online who was doing an Ironman. So inspiring! I even got to see him cross the finish line on my iPad. So cool. I also watched the KY Derby. My husband promised to take me one day. I'm so excited to buy/wear a big hat. :)
Anyway, in other news these are some things that I have my eye on. Has anyone ever tried these Salon Nail Effects by Sally Hansen? They look intriging and fun and I'm interested in seeing how they look on my short, stubby hands.
So, I"m probably the last person on Earth that knows about this app. Seriously, why does no one tell me these things? Anyway, I realized that I could text a blog entry or do it from my phone. Genius! My family blog was being neglected but it isn't now. Since I take most all my pictures from my phone it is just easier to blog from my phone. I'll admit, it needs some work, but for short, quick posts it is fabulous. I wish I could upload more than one picture at a time. But for now, I'll take what I can get.

For the love of lipstick
Remember how I became a lipstick gal? Well, in my new magazine I saw an advertisement for this lipstick called 14 hour lipstick. Well, it's worth a shot, right? Next time I"m at Target I'll be picking this up and let you know of my review.

WIWW: Flip Flops
I'll be honest. I'm running out of things to wear. I honestly wear the same 5 shirts every week. So apologies for those coming to look for fashion inspiration. Instead let me tell you what I've been wearing.
Flip Flops!
My feet are SO swollen due to pregnancy that these are the only shoes I can wear. I barely squeeze into my tennis shoes in the mornings (when my feet are the smallest) for my walks. But these beauties get worn day in and day out, and yes, even to church.
One day I was putting them on to go somewhere with my son. He said, "No, mom. Those are for the beach!" Sorry, son. These are the only things that fit.
At least my son knows I have fashion sense (or at least did). :)

Mags for Miles
I recently got this magazine in the mail due to my mags for miles program. What's that? Well, since I used to travel a lot and now not so much, I use some of my frequent flier miles to buy magazines so I can keep the miles. Some of the choices have been not so good and the magazine just ends up in the trash. Others are gold mines. I'll be honest, this magazine did not disappoint. I loved what I saw and read and might just share a few things with you that I learned.

Monday Must Haves: Book Club
I recently finished this book. I loved it! I was hesitant to read it just because I'm an avid reader of her blog and thought I knew everything about the accident, her new life, etc. Even at my son's swimming lessons I overheard someone saying it was kind of cheesy.
Cheesy? Sign me up.
No, really. I'll admit. The beginning is a tad cheesy but you have to have those parts to really understand her love for Christian and her family. And then it just draws you in from there. On more than one occasion on my morning walks, my eyes filled with tears and stained my cheeks. I was just hoping no one ever saw me blubber away. There was so much more that I learned about her and her family as well as her struggles to get better after crash. It makes me want to go back and read her blog during her recovery again.
I highly recommend this book but don't say I didn't warn you to have Kleenex near by.

Friday Plus-April 27th
Here we go!
Some of my friends threw me a baby shower and needless to say I got hooked up: quilts, diapers, wipes, clothes, bows, etc. I'm so blessed. My little munchkins will be dressed so cute with all the coordinating outfits. Time for dress up!
I finally finished the car seat tents. I messed up on the first one so luckily I had another to do to fix mistake. But my OCDness is setting in and I think I'm going to have to fix the first one so they "match" despite my laziness. I love the fabric. I wanted them to "go together" instead of match. I want to be able to put boy or girl in any car seat because I'll probably be too tired to worry about if the girl is in the right one. Ha!
We went on a stay cation the other weekend sans kids. Our first stop was the Melting Pot. It was our first time there and it was SO good. Highly recommend. It was fun to get away just the two of us before our life turns chaotic.
This is what happens when it is freezing on your staycation when you are supposed to lay by the pool all day. You end up buying a dining table! We have been wanting a table forever and we couldn't pass this deal up.

WiWW: Time is a ticking....
So, the clock is running down on my due date. So, maybe I'll have more outfits to show in awhile. Who am I kidding? I can't fit into my clothes for a long time but I can dream right? I finally wore a new skirt I bought. Guess what color? You guessed right....COBALT BLUE! I wasn't kidding when I told you I was obsessed.
Here is my inspiration for the outfit.

shirt: F21
shoes: Toms
Speaking of the shoes, I would have worn different shoes but these days my feet only fit in crocs or flip flops. sigh! I can't wait until I can wear cute shoes again.

Thank you, Dr. Seuss!
My son is a picky eater. I seriously hate it. My sister can get him to eat things I cannot. I think he sees his cousin eating it so he tries it. In fact, my sister said she wanted to take him for a week for food therapy. Go right ahead! Anything to help.
He is starting to ask for fruit like grapes, bananas, apples, and oranges more so it makes me proud. He ate those when he was little but then just kept his diet to quesadillas, mac and cheese, PB&J, chicken nuggets and to restaurant kid menus when we go out.
This makes dinner interesting at our house. I don't cater to his picky eating. I make what I make and he is expected to eat it. He can't have any snacks after dinner or dessert if he doesn't eat some of it.
Enter Dr. Seuss.
The other day we read Green Eggs and Ham. And I had an epiphany at dinner that night. I told my son that Sam I am thought he wouldn't like it but then he tried it and it was good.
Who knew that would work on my son but it did? He tried it and then all I heard was, "This is yummy!" Let's just say it hasn't worked for everything but it has helped a lot.
A big thank you to Dr. Seuss!

Monday Must Haves.....Date Night Edition
Over the weekend my husband and I had date night. Boy, do I love date night! Lately our date nights have been just dinner because that is about all I can handle sometimes....stupid swollen feet. Anyway, awhile ago I made a rule for date nights: No checking phones (unless you are alone like someone went to the bathroom or someone is calling you), we can't talk about our son, and my husband added a few other topics that we can't talk about it. It seemed like all we could talk about was the weather. It only lasted a month or so but it was fun to pretend we were just dating again.
Well, with dinner just on our agenda I knew I needed to make sure we had great conversation. To be honest, I could talk all night but sometimes my husband is content with little talking. :) So, I'm so glad Pinterest is there because they have lots of date night ideas or, my personal favorite, lists of things to talk about. I have a board called "Keeping it Fresh" on Pinterest and it is all about dating ideas, marriage, etc. And I love it!
So I pulled out my phone and got this list from Hopes and Dreams. Not gonna lie, my husband rolled his eyes when I told him what I was looking at. I told him to pick a number between 1-30 and that was the question I was going to ask. The question that we ended up talking about was
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? 15 years?
Let's just say it was a great starter for great conversation which we ended up talking about other things too. In fact, I couldn't get my husband to shut up. lol. My kind of date!
So, give it a whirl and you just might be surprised. I know I was.

Busy Bag Swap
Recently I was a part of a Busy Bag Swap. I've been looking to create some busy bags for my son to do this summer while I'm sleep deprived and trying to figure out life with twins but it just wasn't getting done. Luckily, a friend told me about this swap. I made two different sets of bags (18 of them). This way it cut costs because you buy a lot of something and actually use it instead of tons of stuff you don't end up using. And it forced me to do it!
I made the Match Jar and Pool Noodle Lacing and Sequencing. Here are the tutorials.
I can't wait to see what how all the other bags turned out.

WiWW: "You come here A LOT!"
I have a true confession....I love Old Navy! There I said it. And with my obsession to always buy a new church outfit for Easter I went to Old Navy to hunt for a dress. Now, remember how I'm obsessed with Cobalt Blue right now? Old Navy provided the perfect dress.
Well, I bought the dress and just the next week ALL the dresses went on sale. So, of course I had to venture in again to buy another dress. As I was in the dressing room, the attendent said, "You come here a lot." Granted she helped me both times. I said, "Well, you put your dresses on sale and I need one." So, I proceeded to buy one. Maybe Old Navy should sponsor me because I am a walking advertisement.
(disclaimer...I wore this dress on Easter and I thought I looked totally cute or at least I felt cute. Not sure if it is the angle my husband took the picture in or if I just hate looking 32 weeks pregnant with twins, which I'm sure it is the latter, the dress doesn't LOOK as flattering as I felt.) We all have failures. But the dress is so comfortable that I will probably wear it again. It isn't maternity so I'll be wearing it a lot this summer.

Monday Must Haves...accessories
Today's must haves are a mixture of things.
This brace is a must for those suffering from carpal tunnel. Recently, both my wrists have had severe pain from pregnancy swelling and my doctor blames carpal tunnel. Let's just say I'm not a fan. I tried to save money by using my rollerblading wrist guards but it's not the same. These guards are worth every penny to help you sleep because it is worse at night. Love them! (even though I thought that it would magically make the numbness go away...not).
This past weekend I bought a watch exactly like this one. I know white watches are trendy but so am I. I love trends and I like to try them out. So, sue me! I was going to have my husband buy me a nice white watch for Mother's Day coming up but for $8 I couldn't resist this one. I just bought it and will tell you how I enjoy wearing it when I do.
I"m not sure if I have ever shared my love for Toms on this blog. Well, I LOVE them. They are so comfortable. In fact, I've been wearing my ones with holes in them because I love them so much. I need to buy another pair. Over the weekend I happened to go to Nordstrom's Rack so I finally have a new pair. They really are the most comfortable shoes EVER! I used to wear tennis shoes around Disneyland but Toms beats them out hands down. My feet are still tired at the end of the day with tennis shoes but with Toms I could go another 12 hours. I convinced my mom to take them to Europe with her and she loved them too. Run to get your next pair.
There ya go!

Friday Plus-April 6th
What we have been up to this week?
This kid got to pick a prize out at the dollar store and look what he picked out. A hula hoop! He is determined to learn how to do it.
These finally came in the mail. I ordered them on Etsy for newborn pictures. Aren't they adorable?
Went to our town's rodeo last weekend. It was a blast and we all had fun even if there was drama (with our seating arrangements). Good thing my mom was there to sweet talk.

WIWW: Do I Dare?
The other morning I was determined to wear a skirt. But these days I seriously alternate between my four striped maternity shirts from Old Navy that I LOVE. Gotta have one in every color, right? Plus, the shirt that I had planned to wear with skirt fit but not as well as I would like. I tried on this outfit and I need your opinion.
I know different patterns on patterns is in but I just couldn't do it. To me it looked a little odd. Even though the shirt was the right colors in the skirt I felt weird. Maybe it was my old matchy patchy self coming back or maybe it is really odd. Anyway, I didn't wear it. I ended up wearing the other boring, blue, didn't fit quite right shirt I had planned that.
Could I pull this off one day?

Scramble
I swear I find a new app or something on my phone every week and of course I become addicted. Hey, it's just my personality. My latest addiction is Scramble. It is like the game Boggle and I love it. I'm sure the addiction will wear off just like Words With Friends have but for right now it is fun to play. Check it out.

Monday Must....See this video
Sexy Modest is the store that I am always raving about on this blog. It is my Utah go to store when in town. He even dressed me head to toe when I was 17 weeks pregnant. Can't say that I could fit into anything now but you better believe that I am going to buy more than a few things when I reach certain goals post babies. Check out their latest items.
But here is a must see video. It is hilarious!

WIWW: Spring is for Skirts!
Spring is for skirts around here. It is starting to warm up and I'm kind of thankful because I'm sick of wearing the same two pants every single day. I have loads of skirts (with elastic waists) that I can wear so you might be able to see more outfit posts. But, alas, I still wear the same 5 shirts. Remix anyone? I loved these outfits. The colors were so vibrant even though you can't see them very good in the pics. Sorry. :(

Monday Must Haves....PIns
Pinterest came to the rescue this past week. Post to come soon but here are some of my favorite pins lately. I actually am going to follow through with them soon because I went to JoAnn's and my other favorite fabric store over the weekend. Lots of projects going on over in our house. Better get started. Here is what I plan on making:
An Easter tie for my little guy following this tutorial.
Someone sells this on Etsy but I think it would be easy to make. But knowing my skills it will probably be useless and my babies will wake up. Ha!
Two of these, please! I'll be using this tutorial.
There ya have it. Must make Monday.

Friday Plus-March 23rd
Here is our week in pictures.
I made these "raw" cookie dough balls from a recipe off of Pinterest. Shocker I know! They are really good. Ingredients: almonds, pecans, oats, honey (I didn't have raw honey), cinnamon, vanilla, salt, and chocolate chips. YUMMY!
This past week it hailed in AZ! My son said, "Yeah, now Santa is going to come."
This is how you clean up when you can't bend down. Sweep it up!
First lesson of the season. I bought a Groupon for it because I'm not sure if lessons will happen in the summer with twins on the way.
Have a good weekend!
